Sinopsis Berkenaan Kursus Telekomunikasi dan Rangkaian (SPPM 1013)

Kursus ini akan mendedahkan pelajar kepada teknologi dan peranti untuk rangkaian komputer dan akses dan aplikasi internet. Ia akan merangkumi asas komunikasi data, kemudahan telekomunikasi dan topologi rangkaian. Pelajar akan diperkenalkan kepada teknologi Internet dan aplikasinya, dan juga isu sosial dan etika yang berkaitan dengan sumber web. Pada akhir kursus pelajar harus dapat menunjukkan pemahaman mereka dengan menggunakan aplikasi Internet untuk pengajaran dan pembelajaran, dapat menilai sumber-sumber web, kesadaran isu-isu etika, sosial dan undang-undang yang berkaitan dengan sumber-sumber web. Pelajar juga harus menggunakan pelbagai aplikasi internet untuk pengajaran dan pembelajaran.

1. Parallel transmission modes
• Data is sent at least one byte at a time, each bit in the byte taking separate path.
• Means that a group of bits is transmitted simultaneously by using separate line for each bit 

1. Serial transmission modes

• Synchromous
• Asynchronous
• Isochronous

Directions / Flow of Data Transmission

1.Simplex

• One Way (Satu hala)
• Example : Tv and Radio

2.Half Duplex

• Two way (Dua Hala)
• Data are move in two way but never in the same time.
• Example : Walkie Talkie

3.Full Duplex

• Two Way (Dua Hala)
• Data are move in two way and can move in the same way in the same time

Data compression

• Data compression is changes form a big size of file to smaller than the original size
• Example : JPEG. PNG. MP4
